How do people with anxiety deal with their everyday life? How do they cope with their anxiety attacks? And most of all, how do they survive alone?

While it’s not something that people really like to talk about too much, especially in public spaces, there are still some things you can only really understand if you’ve been living through yourself. In this article, we’re going to show you 6 things you can do to reduce your anxiety and how sometimes even the littlest things can make all the difference in your day.

1. You make sure you’re alone.

This might sound pretty obvious, but it’s surprising just how important it is to make sure that you’re not going to be disturbed at any time during the day. Even something as simple as moving around can cause different triggers for people with anxiety, so you often try and find somewhere you know where there isn’t going to be anyone walking past or close enough to bother you.

2. You organize your space.

Another thing that is pretty common for you is organizing your space. This is when you’re going to do most of the things that can make you feel comfortable and distract your anxious thoughts. It’s like a little haven that you’ve created, somewhere that’s just for you where you can do the things you like and feeling good about it.

3. You take some time to yourself.

There are plenty of options to choose from – some people call it meditation, others refer to it as yoga; but in the end, most of these exercises are pretty much the same thing. They provide you with a space where you can clear your mind and calm down for a moment, which is something that everyone needs once in a while. You might choose other alternatives like walking in nature or lighting an aromatherapy candle.

4. You prepare your day.

Although this might not be a thing normal people like to do the most; but for people with anxiety, taking time out of your day to think about what you’ve got coming up and how you’re going to deal with it has always had the potential to help you in the long run. Planning ahead is important because it enables you to make sure you don’t forget anything or have to rush around at the last minute. It may feel like a waste of valuable time, but at least you won’t end up feeling overwhelmed when you should be having fun!

5. You acknowledge your feelings.

Acknowledging what you’re feeling is one of the first steps towards making sure your anxiety doesn’t get to be too much; it helps you realize why you’re feeling like this and eventually make it easier to deal with. Sometimes, you even try writing down every thought that goes through your mind because this can really help make sense of things!

6. You make sure you’re eating properly.

This might seem obvious to some people, but sometimes you might forget just how important it is to fuel yourself up properly so you don’t crash later on in the day. Eating enough and making sure you’ve got all sorts of food groups in your diet can at least help you stabilize your body, and it can reduce the occurrence of anxiety attacks.

Recovery from anxiety can be a long road, but there’s nothing that you shouldn’t be able to do on your own as long as you’ve got the right attitude and keep focused on what you want to achieve. However, if things are really getting out of hand, you can find someone you’re comfortable speaking with, like your therapist or your friends and family.
