Prince Charming from Fables
The comic book series Fables is a portrayal of how our beloved fairy tale characters situated in a modern city cohabitating with humans, or mundy (short for mundanes). It has all the characters you can ever come up with, from the Big Bad Wolf turned Sheriff of the Fables, to the Mary and his little lamb, Simbad, Rose Red, you name it. And who can forget the most charming prince of them all? During the first few arcs that he was introduced, Prince Charming is known as the local womanizer-slash-freeloader who did not have any means of living, apart from the money he would leech off from his women. He is a prime candidate of a person suffering from Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Charming has this grandiose sense of self-importance, believing that he is still the most handsome man on the planet, and he can get away with absolutely anything because of this. But nonetheless, throughout the progression of the plot, the readers will see that he also have periodical bouts of anxiety and insecurity, especially since he became the Mayor of Fabletown. When his voters were very critical of how he was running things, we see some part of his charm falter. It’s very amusing to watch his character development, though, how he would grow to be the Mayor Fabletown never expected, but needed nonetheless.
