Join a Success Networking Team

Hello Psych2Goers!

My name is Geneva and I recently joined the writing team here at Psych2Go. I was asked to join an honor society (The National Society of Leadership and Success) and part of the orientation/induction process requires me to put together a Success Networking Team (SNT) and hold meetings. To quote the Success Networking Team Meeting Guide, “A Success Networking Team (SNT) is a team of people who come together in an encouraging atmosphere to network, share goals/obstacles, offer advice and commit to actions to achieve desired results.” I am currently working on putting my group together and need two more people to join. Since I am an online student, the meetings will be held online. I am required to complete three (3) meetings, two (2) weeks apart.

The basic layout of these meetings will be for each member to establish a goal or goals and write a short action plan. The team can share ideas and suggestions as to how each person can go about achieving these goals. Within the two weeks between meetings you should be sticking to your action plan. The team is meant to hold each other responsible for achieving their goals, so you get to be involved in a strong, supportive environment. At the beginning of the next meeting(s) there will be a “progress report” for each member to briefly discuss how their action plan is coming along. I do not have dates and times yet, as there are a few members who are overseas. I will try to accommodate everyone’s time zones and schedules. I will be holding the meetings on a website such as Chatzy that allows a private chat room so that we can all easily interact with each other.

Ideally, the meetings will be over a span of six weeks. I am hoping to continue the meetings past the amount required (like monthly meetings), as there are many benefits. The benefits include:

  • Having a supportive, judgment-free environment in which to share your goals and what you want to do with your life
  • Peer-to-peer mentoring experience
  • A network of people willing to help you achieve your goals
  • Develop a set of success and leadership skills

My hope is to create a strong, reliable network of individuals to help each other achieve their goals. We all need a helping hand and I think this is a great opportunity. If you are interested, e-mail me at GenevaFluet@aol.com and tell me a bit about yourself (like if you are a student, what you’re studying, basically a brief overview of yourself).
