Meet Lesly Drue from Psych2Go – Your Superstar Animator #3

Hi everyone, meet Lesly Drue, Psych2Go’s superstar animator. Lesly Drue is in college studying graphic design and animation in the University Tecmilenio from Monterrey, N. L. Ms. Drue has been with Psych2Go for almost five months now, and has animated more than 10 projects. The videos you see like “7 Subtle Signs a Shy Girl Likes You,”7 Early Signs of a Toxic Relationship and her first hit project “6 Types of Childhood Abuse” are all completed by hers truly. Ms. Drue aims to inspire others with her work, and bring happiness to the world. We feel that she’s already accomplishing that now with her work seen by more than millions of people through Psych2Go’s community! Without further ado, let’s take the time to appreciate the work Lesly has done for our community, and learn more about her!

1.Tell us a bit about yourself. Your upbringing and education.

Hi, my name is Lesly Ramírez, I live in Monterrey, N.L., and I’m currently studying Graphic Design and Animation starting now my second year at it. Since little I loved to draw, and I loved the idea of animating, so my goal is to be working on my own animations in the future.

2.How did you first get involved with Psych2Go?

I saw a post on Facebook about the team looking for animators. I already had a year experience animating on my own, so I thought to give it a shot, and here I am (very grateful!).

3.What drew you to Psych2Go?

When I was a teen I had bad stuff going on around me. I find these topics very helpful for people who have these kinds of problems and want some help but really don’t know how to talk to someone or ask. I want to be able to help them, thank God I had the courage to talk to my family and friends, but I know its not that easy, so I want to help them by making videos about the topics Psych2Go gives.

4. What motivates you as an animator?

Giving a story to the audience, making them connect with my animations, and make them analyze and think to themselves. I want to give a positive message throughout my animations.

5.What advice do you have for other animators who wish to have a head start in their career?

Have patience and never give up. Life gives and takes, and it can be though, but if you really love this, if you really want this, you need to move on, to improve, let the world know that you won’t give up. You also need to have in mind that you can’t be like the others, you will have your own unique style and you should be proud of it. Be proud of every step in your path.

6. .How would you describe your animation process? What tools and software do you use?

I spend hours in front of my computer, but with some relaxing music and really concentrating in what I’m doing I get the work done in no time. I use Paint Tool Sai for illustrating and Sony Vegas for making the video (pretty basic but is all I got hehe).

7.What is your favorite part of animation?

Making the characters come to life! It really brings me so much satisfaction and thrill.

8.What is a quote you stand by?

I love Disney, I dream to sometime work with them, and I absolutely love Walt´s quotes, one of them being: “First, think. Second, dream. Third, believe. And finally, dare.”

9. What are your 3 favorite works you did with Psych2Go or yourself?

I really like my animation on “7 subtle signs a shy girl likes you”, it was my first colored animation with Psych2Go. And the other two would be “7 Early Signs of A Toxic Relationship”, and “6 Weird
Things Anxiety Causes You To Do”.”.

Have a great day everyone! Hope you like and appreciate the content we put out and continue to support us along the way!

  1. I really enjoyed the artwork done by Ms. Drue, and her work definitely stood out from the typical style that was used for the Psych2Go videos (though I enjoyed those too). I always look forward to seeing her work!
