Psych2Go – A Place To Have Fun, Learn and Heal

When I first built Psych2Go in 2008, my vision was to establish a platform for people to communicate, create, and discuss all things psychology, mental health and life. Being the loner in high school, and a big introvert, I didn't know that a place called the internet can allow such friendships, learning and community to develop. Thank you to long gone glory days of Tumblr, a micro blogging platform for anyone wishing to be semi anonymous, I was able to share lecture and textbook notes, and some personal study challenges I had. From there, a small community of people just like yourself and me, came to support questions I had, and even, ask more questions on the topics I was learning. Those were the best days of Psych2Go, at least for me, as I was building it. Now we have so many animators, writers, and voice actors, and over 1000 plus videos on Youtube that everything do feel a little too corporate. Too repetitive, too distant from what we used to be.

Hence, the team and I talked and we really want to bring back the mission of our work. We want to go back to our roots of having a platform where everyone from students studying psychology to the everyday enthusiasts who want to share something that they learn new. To give everyone a portal to vent, to discuss, to create life to things that are bothering them in their heads, but temporarily have a safe place on the web to declutter some of those troubling thoughts or ideas.

To do this, I personally went ahead and added a 'sign up' button somewhere on the top corner where you can create your own personalized account, you can add your own avatars, comment, and start threads or make content that you would like psych2go to cover in a video.

There will also be a prize system where members who actively engage, by sharing content, leaving feedback, helping answer questions, and making content, will be able to redeem points for merchandise or gift cards. (we are still figuring this part out), but that's what we hope to see.

In the future, say 3 years down the line, we hope that this website can be like a coffee shop, or cool hiding spot where you and your friends who know about psych2go, can come to reconnect with old friends and chat about challenges you have overcome. To help the next generation of people find their footings in this world. Even as I am getting older now, in my early 30's I still myself to know so little. To want to seek mentors, new friendships, new connections who can guide me a bit. We hope that this website can be a community that you can return to when you feel a bit lost, in the blues and you just need a little glimmer of that silver lining.

Also, if you would like to connect with me, you can do so here as well
