Psychology topics already interested ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Persia, Greece, China and India, but usually as a sub-field of something else. Since it started developing into a proper, modern scientific field around the 1890s[x], the world of psychology has seen many psychologists. Some were weird. Some were wonderful. Furthermore, some were controversial. All interesting for their own reasons.

A short disclaimer, all of these psychologists undoubtedly have had their fair share of controversies, we do not mean to condone malpractise and ethical misconduct. This was written to teach about some of the names who have shaped the field, in good or ad ways, in the spririt of education. Perhaps in the spirit of warning too, where it concerns the controversies. If this article performs, we will also make a “who is your psychology mom?” article.
