Since Bilinguals have both languages activated in their brain at the same time, they must continually monitor which one is appropriate. Having to switch back and forth confers the benefits of being bilingual, proven by their drastic improvement in attention and focus, increased capability in multi-tasking, and cognitive enhancements.
