A 5 Minute Test That Will Reveal Your Innermost Thoughts
I stumble upon this 5 minutes test via Oliver Emberton’s blog, and I find it really interesting and accurate for me. Be sure to play along with the test to get accurate results. So, here it is! Have fun!
The 5 Minute Game
I want you to imagine a desert, stretching out as far as your eyes can see. In this desert, there is a cube.
Your first task is to describe the cube. What does it look like? How large is it? What is it made of? Where exactly is it?
There are no right answers here, only your answers. Take a moment before you continue – the detail is important.
As you look at the desert and your cube, you notice there is also a ladder. Your second task (there are just five) is to describe the ladder. What is it made of? How big is it? Where is it, in relation to the cube?
Now imagine that in the scene there is a horse. (Yes, horse. I didn’t say this desert made sense). Your third task: describe the horse. Most importantly: where is the horse, and what is it doing? Where, if anywhere, is it going?
We’re nearly there now. In the scene before you are flowers. Your penultimate task: describe the flowers. How many are there? What do they look like? Where are they, in relation to the horse, cube, ladder and sand?
Final question. In the desert there is a storm. Describe the storm. What type of storm is it? Is it near, or far? What direction is it headed? Does it affect the horse, flowers, cube or ladder?
If you’ve been playing along, this is going to be fun. If you didn’t, I must warn you: the next part ruins your ability to play this game ever again. If you won’t want to ruin it forever, go back now. Trust me.
Ready? There’s no going back.
What the symbols represent
The Cube – Your Ego
The size is ostensibly your ego: a large cube means you’re pretty sure of yourself, a small cube less so.
The vertical placement of the cube is how grounded you are. Resting on the sand? You’re probably pretty down to earth. Floating in the sky? Your head is in the clouds.
The cube’s material conveys how open you are: transparent cubes belong to transparent people, opaque cubes are more protective of their minds. Glowing? You’re likely a positive person, who aims to raise the spirits of others. Made of granite? You’re likely protective and resilient.
The trick here is that when asked to describe a blank, abstract entity – a cube – your imagination will tend to project its own identity onto it. This trick is as old as time, but it’s about to get more interesting.
The Ladder – Your Friends
Are your friends leaning on the cube? Your friends depend on you, and are close. Is the ladder frail, or robust? Tall or short? Does it lead inside the cube? Or is it cast to one side, lying unloved on the sand? By now you should be able to draw your own conclusions.
The Horse – Your Dream Partner
The type of horse reveals a lot about what you yearn for in a partner. Some people see a steady brown workhorse, others a shining pegasus or unicorn. Make of these people what you will.
Is your horse nuzzling your cube affectionately, or taking a bite out of it? Is it far from your cube, or walking away? This can represent a current partner, or an aspirational one, but the results are often a mix of touching and hilarious.
The Flowers – Your Children
The number of flowers relates to how many you imagine having. Some people see just a single, withered daisy; others a resplendent garden covering the cube and desert beneath.
The colour and vitality of the flowers can speak to their health and presumed prosperity. The placement – particularly in relation to the cube – can reveal interesting relations; I met one woman whose horse was eating their flowers.
The Storm – Threat
This speaks to the current state of the person, and how they perceive risk in their life. Some may see a distant storm, on the lip of the horizon, fading from sight. Others may view themselves in the midst of a thunderous apocalypse, hailstones the size of tennis balls pelting their fragile cube and horse. Chances are those people have some immediate trauma in their life.
How did it go? What are your results? Let us know in the comment section!

Guess I want a lot of children but in the same time just 1 since in my mind it flickered and my ladder flickered between wood and steel which means I’m not sure of my friends my cube is just medium sized so Im in between egoistic and uncertain then the horse was just neighing and it looked like any brown hoarse you could imagine this probably represents how low my standards are and last of all the strong was strong but everything just stayed still so Im probably suffering but I don’t really care and it doesent effect anyone
Cube – Small, but not tiny, sorta medium, solid, a slight darker than the desert (hard to see)
Ladder – made out of wood, leaning on the cube, top going slightly over the top of the cube, slightly frail
Horse – Mostly brown horse with white patches where there are brown speckled dots, walking towards the cube and stops in front of it.
Flowers – Small field, all blue petals with bright green leaves.
Storm – Tornado, medium-small, hits the horse slightly and hits the flowers, leaving them strewn around,
My cube was big enough to hold in both hands and black with white outlines. My ladder laid next to my feet made out of baseball bats and my horse was black a few feet away from me neighing scared and running in a circle. My three flowers were purple with white outlines and the storm was a huge hurricane that when it down poured it filled my cube up with water, left my ladder untouched, blew my flowers away and killed my horse.
i say an opaque cube floating just below my knees and a brown horse just standing kinda far from me and the ladder was made of wood just stood on its own the flowers i saw were daisies the looked a bit frail
That was pretty cool, my ladder was in a hole in the sand so very down to earth lol close to cube but not touching, My flowers were at the bottom of the later, my friends often mentor my children so that makes sense. The horse was just standing there looking off into the distance, possibly at the passing storm. That seems really on point as well, our relationship is distant.
Small ice cube placed on the ground, ladder is placed away from the cube and inclined to ground and ladder is made up of iron, shining horse nuzzling that ice cube, there are too many colorful flowers near cube and ladder, distant storm fading from sight
Large sparkly gold cube with an old, sturdy ladder leaning on the cube. The horse is a light grey standing on top of a dune. The flowers are a field of lisianthus between the cube and the dune the horse is standing on. The storm is on the horizon, is coming towards us but doesn’t affect anything.
the cube- small, whiteish with a matalic look. right in front of me.
the ladder-its thick and stick upward in the sand. made of iron and white wood. its pointing toward me and is a few feet away.
the horse- strong ,heavy set and short , its got a soft light brown pelt and is far away and slowly trotting closer.
the flowers- ther are meny spotted around. some are white some pink some yellow or orange. they are little and small but robustly beautiful. they are everywhere in small patches.
the storm- its everywhere, like standing in the eye of a GIANT tornado or hurricane. me and the horse are frightened as the flowers are flat closer to the ground.
I am a fresh graduate of Psychology. Thus, i really like something like this. It’s amazing particularly in a positive way. I have doubts if I get back this site earlier. But then, I see something really matched on my personality. So I continued it. Just wow! I have nothing to say but “hooray” Its all my imagination going thru in a nice way. Hands up for this! I really loved this scenario.
Hmmm interesting! My cube was huge, silver colored, stainless steel cube, the ladder was a wooden ladder leaning to the cube, my horse was a brown horse, peacefully standing next to me, very close n docile. I had a bunch of colorful flowers in a flower pot. The storm was above me n my cube, but it was not bad, mild, n the weather was very much my favourite, windy, minor storm.
????
Have fun with this one >.<
Your first task is to describe the cube. What does it look like? How large is it? What is it made of? Where exactly is it?
Middle of desert. It fits in the palm of my hand. Metallic gray. Unknown metal
As you look at the desert and your cube, you notice there is also a ladder. Your second task (there are just five) is to describe the ladder. What is it made of? How big is it? Where is it, in relation to the cube?
Wood. Reaches into the sky across the desert. The middle crosses path with the cube but is miles in the sky
Now imagine that in the scene there is a horse. (Yes, horse. I didn’t say this desert made sense). Your third task: describe the horse. Most importantly: where is the horse, and what is it doing? Where, if anywhere, is it going?
Dark chestnut. It is wondering the desert looking for water.
We’re nearly there now. In the scene before you are flowers. Your penultimate task: describe the flowers. How many are there? What do they look like? Where are they, in relation to the horse, cube, ladder and sand?
Millions. Lilies. Surrounding the cube, but there is an open ring around the cube. The horse is stepping on them.
Final question. In the desert there is a storm. Describe the storm. What type of storm is it? Is it near, or far? What direction is it headed? Does it affect the horse, flowers, cube or ladder?
The storm is on the opposite side of the base of the ladder. It’s slowly erasing the flowers. The horse is running towards the storm. The ladder is not impacted for now, but after all has been washed away, will still be climbing into the sky. The cube will suffer the same fate as the flower.
My cube was made of obsidian and was lying on the ground. It was about 20cm in all directions and the ladder, old, weathered and wooden lay next to it, with the horse looking forlornly at it. The storm was behind the flowers, above an oasis and all the items were sheltered.
1. Made of metal, super shinny, floating in the air.
2. Tall metal ladder leaning on the cube reaching the surface of the cube but not the inside.
3. A strong brown horse with it’s hair flying in the wind, it’s kicking it’s legs everywhere and is standing away from the cube.
4. A garden of red roses right under my feet, quite far away from the cube and the horse.
5. Heavy warm wind coming from the right side making the roses lean left and the horses’ hair fly.
Cube- small and made of glass with sharp edges, having a dark bluish purple hue with sand slightly on it.
Ladder- small and metal laying on the top of the cub, not hanging off it nor going inside.
Horse – pure white with grey eyes and a large muscular body, obviously for working but is giant compared to everything else. Its just standing there and staring, a bit away from the cube.
Flowers – just two small flowers resting against the cube, blood red with fang like petals and sharp leaves and thorns. It has no green on it, its black and ashy looking.
Storm – major dust storm that blows into my eyes and is very close, about to cover the cube in sand and kill everything with its force
Cube – big, white, on the sand, soft, seem strong.
Ladder – slanted to the cube, you can reach on top of the cube by the ladder, strong, long, made of bamboo.
Horse – on top of the cube, brown, steady, strong, stand still.
Flower – beautiful, small, only one, pretty much far across the cube.
Storm – destructing all of that.
My cube was transparent, and made of ice so that I could melt some of it incase I needed a drink. My ladder was of solid wood, leaning against the cube so that I could climb it if I needed to. The house was brown with a saddle on it so that I could travel if I needed it to, not a work horse, sleek. There was a large field of flowers, all different colors, beautiful. The storm was a rain shower. It watered the flowers, gave me something to drink by melting some of the cube, gave the horse something to drink. Refreshing.
Cube- medium white cube
Ladder- sturdy wood, leaning on cube
Horse- Brown strong horse waiting by the cube for me
Flowers- all colorful little flowers scattered through the desert
Storm- heavy rain, thunder and lightning in the distance
I have imagined a very shiny black cube as tall as a person, lying on the ground with the wooden ladder, taller than the cube leaning on the cube, with one edge on the sand. A regular horse bt ready( with stock of foods and water) on the other side of the cube, opposite to the ladder. The flower? I imagined a single strong, beautiful, and independent flower (not specific what flower it was) under the ladder between the cube and the slanted ladder.
The storm was big, like a sandstorm, covering everything, but it is directed away of the cube, flower, ladder, and horse
Cube – Supported on a vertex on top of a cement platform. Bigger than people, lamppost tall. Translucent iridescent material.
Ladder – Black material, maybe metal. Tall enough to climb the cube and supported on a side of it.
Horse – Black and strong. Standing behind the cube.
Flowers – Multicolored flowerbed around the cube’s platform
Storm – Black clouds swirling in the sky, stationary in the back. Going nowhere.
My cube was the size of a big hotel, it was right in the middle of the desert and it was made of white plastic. There was nothing special about it, just a weird cube resting on the sand.
The ladder was tall, it lead to the top of the cube. It was anything but wide though, and its material was wood.
The horse was beautiful, maybe normal-looking, but it was a creature of elegance and justified pride. It was brown with white spots, it stood next to the cube and it was eating the flowers I was later told to imagine.
The flowers were lilies but rose pink. Whenever the horse ate them, they regenerated, providing nutrition to it forever in this desert.
The storm was right there, strong and horrifying as ever. The sky turned black and lightning was striking the ground, however, the cube suddenly produced a big umbrella from its top and this umbrella kept the ladder, horse and flowers safe.
I have no idea what this means, but it’s wild.
Cube- big, color of the sand, floating just about the length of a ruler from the surface of the earth
Ladder- made of glass but thick, as long as the length of the cube, it’s leaning on the cube so I could climb on it to reach the top. It’s located at the back of the cube
Horse- also close to the color of the sand, has a light reddish brown mane but generally the color of the sand, with firm muscles, alert, poised and active, standing beside the cube looking at my direction
Flower- more like a meadow with little flowers of various colors, the meadow is also green of leaves and grasses but the colors of the flowers stand out, just lying inches from my foot but it’s far from the horse and the cube
Storm- heavy rainstorm which could be seen on the horizon, just passing through all of us
This is, to this day, my favourite personality test I’ve ever come across, but does anyone know where this test came from, or if there’s an official name for it?
So you are definitely wrong on the kid count. 10-20 is definitely too much.
