7 Simple Habits You SHOULD Do Everyday

Human beings are creatures of habit. Everything we think, say, and do is the consequence of deep-seated habits ingrained in our minds over the course of many years of consistent behaviour. Those are the same habits that can either propel us ahead or stifle our growth in life.

Today’s article will help you with a list of 7 simple habits that you should do every day.

1. Create a morning routine.

How you start your day matters. Maybe you like to go for a morning walk, jog or run, maybe you like to listen to music in the shower to get yourself in a good mood; or maybe you prefer to meditate.

Whatever it is that makes you feel energised, make it a practice to start your day with it. Creating a fulfilling morning routine might help you begin your day on a pleasant, productive note. Instead of racing to make up for missed time, having an organised start to your day reduces stress, mental exhaustion, and increases productivity.

2. Stay hydrated.

We’ve all heard about the several advantages of drinking a good amount of water: more energy, clear skin, and improved digestion. Even though we know the benefits of staying hydrated, that doesn’t always guarantee that we follow through.

Consider counting your 3 liters of water a day as an excellent way to fuel your body rather than as a punishment.

When we are dehydrated, we eat more, make poorer decisions, and tend to gravitate more towards unhealthy foods and beverages. Consider carrying a bottle of water with you and refill it as needed.

3. Get Up Early.

This is one of the toughest habits to establish, but once you do, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. Early risers are more productive and have more time to solve issues early in the day rather than catching up later. Even 10 minutes added to your daily routine can help you get out the door on time, in order and set the tone for the rest of your day.

Making small changes like not using any electronics an hour before bed time or avoiding caffeine and sugary drinks in the evening could go a long way.

4. Set daily goals.

A huge majority of people have a set of goals that they wish to achieve.  Whether it’s something they want to do in their career or in life, everyone is eventually heading in the same direction.  While long-term aspirations provide direction, it is the everyday goals that we establish that allow us to set short-term goals that are critical to our success.

Even in the greatest of circumstances, long-term ambitions can seem very intimidating. However, by focusing on them one-day-at-a-time and in short-term scenarios, you may overcome some of the magnitude associated with attaining large things in life by employing a daily goal-setting technique.

Start by making small to-do lists at the start of every day or the night prior to help you visualise what’s about to happen

5. Learn to manage your money.

It’s easy to overlook small expenses, but they pile up quickly, especially when we don’t anticipate them. When it comes to good financial habits, this is a vital one to have, and it will help you achieve financial success in the future. Money saved on unnecessary or frivolous expenditures can be saved and invested for the future. Don’t put off thinking about the future in order to enjoy the present. Make sure you keep track of all of your spending.

You can try to implement the 50-20-30 rule in your life to help you save your money. The rule states that your income needs to be divided into three parts.

The first part comprises of 50% of your income that goes towards all your needs, the second part should be 30% of your income that can be used towards things that you don’t necessarily need but want and the remaining 20% of your income should be saved.

Practicing the 50-20-30 method ensures that you are financially protected in all aspects of your life.

6. Have a positive outlook.

We attract unpleasant things into our lives when we think more about them and nurture negative thoughts. We attract positive things when we think positively. It’s difficult to maintain a positive attitude all of the time, and it’s human nature to think negatively about things.

Positive thinking, on the other hand, is one of the most reliable approaches to attaining your objectives. Ignore the skeptics and those who doubt your talents, and pursue the things you enjoy while remaining positive. It’s all a question of momentum. If you think optimistically for a long time, good things will slowly but surely start to happen.

7. Schedule some time for yourself.

Enjoying some downtime, or “me” time, is a practice that most of us fail to practice in our daily lives. Every single day, do one simple activity that you enjoy. It’s not all about success and achievement. You may truly instill peace of mind and refocus your center by performing one tiny action that you enjoy.

Whether you listen to music and sing/dance in the shower, walk around a garden, go on a long drive, read a book, watch a movie, paint something or do anything else, make sure you take out some time for yourself every day.
