Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences
Intrapersonal Intelligence capacity to understand oneself and to be able to appreciate one’s feelings, fears and motivations. They are very self – aware, or have a big potential to be self-aware. Those with Intrapersonal Intelligence have the ability to understand themselves and their relationship to others and the world itself. In Gardner’s view Intrapersonal Intelligence involves having an effective working model of ourselves, and be able to use such information to regulate our lives. This characteristic closely mimics the self-actualized state that Abraham Maslow described in his theory on the hierarchy of needs. This is also closely linked to Emotional Intelligence or EQ.
