Script Direction Guidelines

For the scripts, we’d like you to keep the following in mind:

1. Our videos are meant to be no more than 5 minutes. General rule of thumb. Each double space google doc page counts as one minute. So if you have 3 pages double space, 16 size font, Arial, it’s around 3 minutes. 5 pages = 5 minutes.
   1. If an article is really long, you can try to shorten it by including the key points.
   2. Think of like how you would shorten your class notes/lecture notes
2. For the tone, try to keep it entertaining, inject humor when appropriate, incorporate a story, keep it lightweight, yet serious. The key is to get our audience engaged and not bored out.
3. Avoid jargons or terms that readers would not get. Try to keep the language simple. Ask questions in parts of the videos. Engage/talk to the audience directly. Don’t be afraid to jump away from the script to talk directly to the audience.
