6 Signs You’re Ignoring Your Intuition

Is something wrong, or am I overthinking it? Maybe I’m just being weird? I’m sure all of us have been in a situation where you feel something is wrong but don’t want to act upon it due to fear or doubt. Following your intuition is one of the hardest things to because it requires you to trust yourself sometimes without any factual evidence. That being said, it is also one of the most important things you can do. Your intuition serves to tell you when something is wrong or that you’re unsatisfied with something. While it may feel arbitrary occasionality, trusting your intuition means trusting your feelings, which are very important. It’s never a good thing to ignore how you feel, for it can lead to you feeling dissatisfied and unhappy. Knowing this, are you ignoring your intuition? Keep reading for 6 signs you are!

1. Your life feels ungrounded and imbalanced

Have you been feeling like your life is out of control? Signs such as lack of free time, losing passion for things that used to interest you, or feeling frustrated at everything could mean you’re ignoring something going wrong. It could be one aspect of your life, such as work or a relationship, has taken over too much of your life, or something is bothering you that you don’t want to accept. Whatever the reason, you should try to listen more to your intuition if you’ve noticed your life isn’t going the way you want.

2. Your sleep, health, and diet are suffering, but you’re not motivated to change

Much like your life in general, if your lifestyle is going downhill, there’s likely something wrong. We often ignore our intuition when something is bothering us that we either don’t want to accept or feel is too crazy to be true. Examples of this are losing passion for a significant other or doubting whether a job is the right fit. However, your lifestyle and you as a whole are important, so if they’re suffering, it’s probably time to listen to what your intuition is telling you.

3. You’re pretending to be happy but only going through the motions

Do you feel unsatisfied and unhappy? Chances are it’s for a reason. While you may not know the reason now, deep down, your intuition could be trying to tell you. Ignoring it in favor of hard facts may sound logical, but your feelings are important indicators of your well-being. Instead of ignoring them, try to listen and consider them. It may be hard, but it will likely make you happier and a more well-balanced person.

4. You avoid taking healthy risks

Your intuition can tell you when it’s time to do something new such as asking someone out, exploring a new job, or beginning a project. However, trying something new can be scary due to the fear of failure or change. You may find yourself ignoring your gut feeling telling you to take a healthy risk. While it seems intimidating, exploring different things is a good thing. It allows you to gain more experience and have fun. So, the next time you want to try something new, try not to ignore your feeling and give it a try! Like the hockey hall of fame star Wayne Gretsky said, “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”

5. Your friends make you feel like the odd one out

Your intuition plays a huge part in the people you chose to hang out with. It’s what makes you drawn to certain people and click with them. Knowing this, if you feel isolated and uneasy around them, it’s a good sign you’re ignoring what your intuition is telling you. Friends should uplift and support you, so if they aren’t, you may need to listen to your feelings and try to find people who truly make you happy. After all, everyone deserves friends who love and care about them.

6. Your gut is constantly in pain

Gut feelings aren’t called gut feelings for nothing. Things like a poor diet, stress, and lack of exercise cause a clenched gut. The gut is one of the first things that a poor lifestyle affects. So, on a physical level, your gut being in pain means something is wrong. By being clenched, your gut is literally giving you a gut feeling. It can be easy to overlook or write off as being sick, but if your gut is constantly in pain, you shouldn’t ignore it

Your intuition is an important part of you. It can be easy to think you’re just being paranoid, but chances are you feel something is wrong for a reason. Even if you can’t quite put your finger on why, it’s still good to investigate it. After all, just because something may not be fact-based doesn’t mean it’s not worth considering. Remember to always pay attention to your feelings!

Have you ever had a gut feeling about something? Did you ignore it or listen to it? What happened? Feel free to leave any of your comments, feedback, or experiences!
