Animator Spotlight: Tris Canimo’s Journey with Psych2Go
1) How did you first get started with Psych2Go?
Tris began with Psych2Go in 2020 by creating a “test” animation. Tasked with re-animating a segment of an existing video, they showcased their unique visual storytelling. Although the topic of the initial test eludes memory, this experience launched Tris’s journey with Psych2Go.
2) Which 3 projects of yours are you proudest of and why?
Tris highlighted “What Your Favorite Color Says About You” as one of their favorite projects, noting how beloved it is by both subscribers and viewers. Another standout was “What Does Your Handwriting Say About You”, where Tris crafted clever visual narratives—like Psy dancing along curved letters. Lastly, “The Psychology Behind Why We Love Horror” allowed them to embrace their darker, creepy artistic style, deviating from their usual romantic or cutesy art. Tris also threw in a bonus, “8 Things That Make You Attractive”, as the first video where they included anime easter eggs, engaging Psych2Go’s anime-loving audience.
3) What was your biggest challenge while working with us?
One of the biggest challenges for Tris was meeting the short two-week deadlines while juggling other commitments like commissions. Balancing creativity and efficiency within that timeframe is tricky, especially when striving to make animations visually appealing to maximize views and engagement.
4) How do you currently work or maintain your mental health?
To maintain their mental health, Tris stays positive, plays games, and creates personal art during stressful moments. As an introvert, they occasionally talk to others when needed, recognizing that staying connected helps with mental well-being, especially as an artist.
5) Where do you hope to see Psych2Go in the next 2 years?
Tris hopes to see Psych2Go tackle topics like character or movie analysis, breaking down the psychological elements behind stories—similar to the style of Cinema Therapy but animated. They envision Psych2Go thriving and gaining a bigger following, with a broader range of content in the coming years.
